Amrize is seeking a Terminal Operator for the Lubbock Terminal, TX. You will operate terminal equipment and manage daily operations under terminal management guidance.

Required is a High School diploma or GED with 1–3 years of experience. A mechanical background and welding ability are desirable, with emphasis on safety and accurate handling of products and shipments.

Responsibilities

• Operate terminal equipment and manage daily terminal functions as directed.
• Maintain terminal buildings and equipment, ensuring safe operation.
• Handle receiving/shipping of products efficiently and accurately.
• Support internal controls and report deviations or issues to management.
• Unload barges/railcars and transfer products to silos; sample and test as needed.
• Load bulk trucks with correct weights and product suitability.
• Troubleshoot terminal equipment failures.
• Adhere to health, safety and environmental policies and procedures.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The responsibility of this position is the hands-on operation of the terminal equipment and daily operating functions of the terminal as so directed by terminal management.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

• Maintaining terminal buildings and equipment in good condition and operating equipment safely is vital to continued employment.
• Efficient handling of product in both receiving and shipping is essential to efficient terminal operations.
• Internal controls providing reasonable assurance of effective and efficient operations, including actions to prevent and detect fraud and protect Company resources
• Ensure compliance with internal control procedures - communicating problems in operations, unwarranted deviations from established standards, and violations of policy or law
• Responsible for the unloading of barges and or railcars, transferring of the products into proper silos, sampling and testing of products received and shipped.
• Loads bulk unit trucks correctly, providing legal weights and proper product for customer delivery or pick up.
• Proficient in trouble shooting terminal equipment failures
• Performs all other duties and functions required by terminal management associated with the operation of the terminal so long as those duties do not present a hazard or violate any known governmental law.
• Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
• Shift is Sunday to Thursday 9:00PM to 5:00AM

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Required Education:High School diploma/GED
Required Work Experience:1-3 years

Additional Requirements:

• Candidates with a mechanical background and welding experience are desirable
• Courteous with customers
• Knowledge of cement, the construction industry and integrated computer systems an asset
• Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
