Job summary

Amrize is seeking a Terminal Operator in Madison, WI. The role involves safely operating equipment to load and unload various transportation modes while ensuring order accuracy and swift processing of requests.

You will collaborate with terminal managers, customers, and logistics partners, perform routine equipment maintenance, and uphold strict safety and PPE standards in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–3 years of work experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of computers and Microsoft programs.
• SAP experience preferred.
• Candidates with mechanical background and welding experience are desirable.
• Knowledge of cement, construction industry and integrated computer systems is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Operate and safely run terminal equipment for loading/unloading rail cars, boats and trucks.
• Maintain order accuracy and expeditious processing of requests at the location.
• Communicate effectively with terminal managers, customers, sales, trucking firms and suppliers.
• Maintain grounds, offices, warehouse, yard, etc.
• Perform routine maintenance on mobile equipment and assist with mechanical tasks.

Job description

The Terminal Operator safely operates all equipment at the location used to load and unload rail cars, boats and/or trucks, ensuring order accuracy and expeditious processing of requests.

WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH

• Terminal Operators need the ability to communicate with Terminal Managers, customers, sales personnel, trucking firms and suppliers.
• Maintain grounds, offices, warehouse, yard, etc.
• Carry out tasks related to loading/unloading material, both bulk and bagged, waterway and road methods of transportation, as appropriate for the specific location.
• Operate and conduct general maintenance on mobile equipment and assist with general mechanical maintenance.
• Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
• Other duties as assigned.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Education: High school diploma or equivalent

Required Work Experience: 1 - 3 years

Required Technical Skills: Basic Knowledge about computers, Microsoft programs, and SAP preferred

Additional Requirements:

• High Mechanical aptitude and ability.
• Candidates with a mechanical background and welding experience are desirable
• Knowledge of cement, the construction industry and integrated computer systems an asset
• Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
