Dunavant is seeking a skilled CY Lift Operator for our La Porte, TX terminal. This onsite, outdoor role requires operating heavy equipment to move containerized and general cargo safely and efficiently, in a fast-paced yard environment.

The ideal candidate has at least one year operating Top Loader/Empty Handler and additional heavy equipment, with ability to train on more gear within the first year. Safety, teamwork, and accurate logging are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year experience operating Top Loader or Empty Handler.
• Minimum one year experience operating heavy equipment such as a yard truck, mule jockey, tractor-trailer, or 52K forklift.
• Ability to complete training and certification on additional equipment within the first year of employment.

Responsabilités

• Safely operate heavy equipment, including Top Loaders, Empty Handlers, Yard Trucks, and forklifts.
• Transport containers and cargo between designated terminal locations.
• Load and unload cargo from trucks and containers using appropriate equipment.
• Perform pre-shift inspections and routine equipment checks, reporting defects or maintenance needs promptly.
• Safely stack and organize loaded and empty containers within the terminal yard.
• Accurately enter and scan container information using onboard computer systems and handheld devices.
• Inspect and segregate hazardous cargo as required.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers to ensure the correct cargo is moved to the proper location on schedule.
• Report cargo damage, safety concerns, incidents, and equipment issues immediately.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area at all times.
• Complete daily activity logs and other documentation as required.
• Assist with general terminal operations and other duties as assigned.
