Position Summary

Indiana University Maurer School of Law in Bloomington isseeking outstanding lateral tenured or tenure-trackapplicants in the regulation of artificial intelligence, robotics,and other emerging technologies. The position is part of IndianaUniversity’s Faculty 100 (F100) initiative. The initiative is acampus-wide investment to recruit 100 new tenured/tenure-trackfaculty whose work strengthens IU’s research capacity instrategically important and rapidly growing areas. IU Bloomingtonhas significant cross-campus strength in technology, informatics,business, labor, public affairs, ethics, and social science.

The strongest candidate would be a scholar with a record oremerging agenda in one or more of the following areas: law andartificial intelligence, responsible AI, robotics, workforcetransformation, human-centered technology, public-sectorinnovation, and technology’s social impacts. A law scholar in thisarea could contribute regulatory analysis, institutional design,and policy-relevant research pertaining to labor-market governance,tax and public-finance analysis, law and political economy, and/ornormative frameworks for evaluating the distributional effects oftechnological change.

We encourage applications from scholars who apply interdisciplinaryperspectives and share important research overlap with current IUBscholars, while also offering new dimensions that will expand andstrengthen the IU’s broader AI and emerging technologies researchprogram.
