Job summary

Salem State University’s School of Social Work invites applications for a tenure-track Social Work Professor with primary teaching in the BSW program and an opportunity to also teach in the MSW program beginning in September 2027. The role emphasizes equity-minded teaching and transformative learning within a collaborative faculty environment.

The ideal candidate will engage in teaching, advising, governance, committees, and curriculum development to support the department and its ~500 students

Qualifications

• Earned PhD in social work, DSW, or doctorate in a related field (or ABD with significant progress).
• Minimum of two years post-MSW practice experience.
• Experience promoting diversity, equity, inclusion, and multicultural competence in an educational environment.

Responsibilities

• Teach, advise, and conduct scholarship in MSW and BSW programs.
• Participate in shared governance, committees, and program coordination; contribute to curriculum development.
• Engage in equity-minded teaching and transformative learning to support student success.
