Job summary

The University of Montevallo invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor of Psychology, beginning Fall 2027. The successful candidate will teach a wide range of undergraduate courses, advise psychology majors, and contribute to department and university service. Preference will be given to applicants with specialization in Developmental Psychology.

A Ph.D. in Psychology is required; ABD near completion may be considered.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Psychology from an APA-accredited program is required.
• ABD candidates nearing completion will be considered.
• Demonstrated ability or potential to engage in scholarly and teaching excellence.

Responsibilities

• Teach a wide variety of undergraduate courses including Foundations in Psychology and History of Psychology.
• Advise psychology majors and contribute to department and university service.
• Engage in scholarly and research activities in line with departmental standards.
