Job summary

Texas A&M University’s Department of Materials Science and Engineering invites applications for one full-time tenured or tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level, with a 9-month academic appointment beginning August 1, 2027, and potential summer appointment.

The candidate will teach, mentor students, develop an externally funded research program focused on powder-based materials, and collaborate with the CAPS cluster and ARM-MIP initiatives.

Qualifications

• Earned doctorate in materials science and engineering or a closely related engineering field.
• Experience in powder-based materials synthesis, processing, and consolidation preferred.
• Ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses and mentor students.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses.
• Advise and mentor undergraduate and graduate students.
• Develop an independent externally funded research program.
• Contribute to departmental activities and collaborations across engineering.
