New York University’s Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Management and Public Service with an anticipated start date in August 2027.

Candidates should have or be near completion of a PhD/DBA in a relevant field and demonstrate potential for high-impact research and effective teaching in public service contexts. The position offers an annual base salary of $125,000 – $145,000, with full benefits and opportunities for

Qualifications

• PhD or DBA in Management / Organizational Behavior, Strategy, Healthcare Management, Organizational Sociology, Personnel Economics, Public Administration, or a related field.
• We seek candidates who demonstrate a strong record, or evidence of strong potential, for publishing innovative, rigorous research relevant to public service organizations and fields in top journals.

Responsibilities

• Carry a share of core management and leadership courses (e.g., Management & Leadership, Strategy, Human Resources and Job Design, Performance Management & Measurement) and electives across Master’s, mid-career, and executive formats.
• Use active-learning classroom approaches to foster student agency and engagement in a diverse student population.
• Bring real-world organizational problems into the classroom to prepare students to lead in public and cross-sector settings.
• Collaborate with NYU schools and departments across the university to advance teaching and research in public administration and management.
