Lamar University invites applications for a nine-month, tenure-track faculty appointment in Criminal Justice with emphasis on homeland security and emergency management. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses and provide academic advising in a campus setting.

The position requires on-campus presence, engagement in scholarly research, proposal development, and service to the department and university, with opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration and

Qualifications

Earned Ph.D. in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Sociology, Public Administration, Homeland Security, Emergency Management, Security Studies, or related field.
Evidence of potential for teaching, advising, and mentoring undergraduates and graduates.
Strong communication skills and ability to work in an interdisciplinary setting.

Responsibilities

Develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Criminal Justice with emphasis on homeland security and emergency management.
Provide academic advising and mentorship to students in-person and online.
Engage in scholarly research, publish in peer-reviewed outlets, and seek external funding.
Support service duties for the department, college, and university.
