Job summary

Ashland Theological Seminary, a graduate division of Ashland University located in Ashland, Ohio, invites applications for a nine-month, full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Practical Theology beginning August 1, 2026.

The successful candidate will teach in multiple formats (in-person, hybrid, intensive, online), advise students, engage in scholarly activities, and contribute to a Christ-centered, servant-leadership culture within the Seminary and University.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent in Practical Theology.
• Experience in higher education and/or other educational environments.
• Experience teaching in non-traditional formats, blended and/or online courses.
• A track record as a collaborative, servant-leader with outstanding written, verbal and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Teach and advise students in graduate and undergraduate Practical Theology courses.
• Represent the Seminary and University in community activities and professional development.
• Participate in Seminary committees and work with faculty and administration.
