Job summary

Qualifications

• Doctorate (foreign equivalent acceptable) in horticultural science, plant physiology or a closely related discipline is required.
• Candidates should have a strong record of publishing in refereed journals and demonstrated skills in verbal and written communication.
• Demonstrated ability to procure extramural funding is expected.

Responsibilities

• Develop an extramurally funded, nationally recognized research and teaching program in postharvest biology and biochemistry.
• Co-teach a joint undergraduate/graduate course and develop a new graduate-level course in postharvest instrumentation.
• Mentor undergraduate and graduate students, postdocs, and visiting scientists; contribute to teaching scholarship.
• Engage in Extension activities and collaborate with UF CALS Honors and distance/international education efforts.
