Case Western Reserve University’s Department of Macromolecular Science and Engineering invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor in polymer science and engineering. The start date is July 1, 2027, with potential for a joint appointment up to 25% in Materials Science and Engineering or Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering.

Qualifications

• Earned PhD in Polymer Science, Chemistry, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field by start date.
• Excellent academic record.
• Vision for innovative, societally relevant research aligned with department priorities; ability to implement it.
• Demonstrated potential for teaching excellence and mentoring; track record for tenure-track expectations.

Responsabilités

• Develop an innovative and externally funded research program in polymer science and engineering.
• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses; supervise graduate students and postdocs.
• Collaborate with colleagues across departments and external partners to translate research.
