Job summary

Goshen College in Goshen, IN invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Professor of Physics at Assistant, Associate, or Full rank starting July 2027. Leadership as Department Chair is available for candidates with prior teaching and admin experience.

Primary teaching could include General Physics, Engineering Statics, Electronics, and upper-level courses; faculty will mentor undergraduates, recruit, advise, and contribute to a diverse academic community.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Physics or Engineering preferred (and required for the Associate or Full Professor rank); a Master’s degree with significant professional experience will be considered.
• Commitment to teaching at a liberal arts school
• Commitment to curriculum development
• Commitment to working with a diverse student body

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned courses with active and engaged learning; prepare syllabi in consultation with the department chair
• Mentor students through advising and undergraduate research projects
• Participate in department, school and college meetings
• Pursue professional development and scholarly activities
