Job summary

Aquinas College invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Physics beginning Fall 2027. The successful candidate will teach the two-semester introductory physics sequence, including lecture and laboratory sections, and other courses as needed to support the department and college goals.

Responsibilities include student advising, contributing to recruitment and retention, and developing an active undergraduate research program that engages students in scholarship.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in physics or closely related field required (ABD considered).
• Evidence of or strong potential for effective undergraduate teaching expected.
• Ability to develop a sustainable program of scholarship involving undergraduate students.

Responsibilities

• Teach 24 contact hours per academic year, including two-semester introductory physics sequence with lecture and lab.
• Advise undergraduate students and contribute to recruitment and retention efforts.
• Develop and maintain an undergraduate-research program involving students where feasible.
