University of Houston's Philosophy Department invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor for Fall 2027. We seek candidates with areas of specialization in Political Philosophy or Philosophy of Law; areas of concentration are open.

There is an expectation that a successful candidate will be able to contribute significantly to the University of Houston’s new Philosophy, Politics, and Economics major.

Qualifications

• PhD in Philosophy required.
• Areas of specialization: Political Philosophy or Philosophy of Law.

Responsibilities

• Teach two courses per semester (with TA support for introductory courses).
• Mentor undergraduate and graduate students.
• Contribute to an inclusive work and learning environment.
• Engage in department, college, and university service.
