Job summary

The Department of Philosophy at CU Boulder invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in philosophy of language with a focus on AI. The appointee will also teach logic and engage in interdisciplinary AI-related work across the university.

The appointment begins August 2027 on a 9-month contract. We offer an option for a semester free of teaching pre‑tenure, a supportive research environment, and opportunities for cross-disciplinary collaboration.

Qualifications

• PhD in Philosophy required at time of appointment.
• ABD candidates will be considered but must evidence ability to meet PhD requirement by start date.

Responsibilities

• Teaching load of 2-2 at undergraduate and graduate levels.
• Regular dissertation and undergraduate advising responsibilities and service duties.
