Job summary

California State University, Chico invites applications for an Assistant Professor in Psychology to teach in the COAMFTE-accredited MFT master’s program. This tenure-track, nine-month position begins in August 2027 with initial review starting October 12, 2026.

The successful candidate will teach graduate MFT courses, supervise trainees, and develop a research program while contributing to program leadership and service within the department.

Qualifications

• Doctorate from COAMFTE-accredited MFT program or accredited Counseling/Clinical Psychology program.
• California licensure or intent to obtain MFT/psychology/LPC by end of year 3.
• Experience in undergraduate and/or graduate instruction.
• Record of research and/or scholarly activities.

Responsibilities

• Teach graduate MFT courses and supervise graduate trainees.
• Develop a research program and seek external funding as appropriate.
• Contribute to administrative and advising needs of the MFT program.
• Collaborate with faculty and staff coordinating training clinic and traineeship.
