The successful candidate will develop courses in core biology and marine biology, mentor students from diverse backgrounds, and build an externally funded research program in invertebrate zoology

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in marine biology, zoology, ecology, evolution, or related field
• Postdoctoral research experience
• Research experience in marine invertebrate zoology
• A record of research productivity commensurate with experience level
• Demonstrated potential for effectiveness and excellence in teaching and related areas
• Demonstrated commitment to working successfully with a diverse student population, including low socioeconomic and first-generation students

Responsibilities

• Develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses in core biology and marine biology, teaching mode at department discretion
• Contribute to diversification of scientific workforce by training students inside and outside the classroom
• Develop and sustain an externally funded research program in marine invertebrate zoology involving undergraduates and MS students leading to peer-reviewed publications with student co-authors
• Participate in service to department, college, university, and community

Education

Ph.D. in marine biology, zoology, ecology, evolution, or related field

Postdoctoral research experience

Research experience in marine invertebrate zoology

A record of research productivity commensurate with experience level
