North Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Linguistics. The successful candidate will contribute to the undergraduate Linguistics major and MA concentration through teaching, research, and service.

The area of specialization is open, with strong interest in corpus linguistics (syntax/morphology/lexicon) or experimental sociolinguistics/psycholinguistics.

Qualifications

• PhD in Linguistics or closely related field by August 2027.
• Demonstrated excellence in teaching and a strong record of research and scholarly publication.
• Commitment to high-quality undergraduate and graduate instruction and data-informed research.
• Experience teaching foundational courses in linguistics and willingness to engage in community outreach.

Responsibilities

• Teach and advise undergraduates in the Linguistics major and MA concentration.
• Engage in research and publish findings in peer-reviewed venues.
• Contribute to department service and mentoring of students.
