Job summary

The Department of Molecular and Cell Biology (MCB) at the University of California, Berkeley invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level in the Genetics, Genomics, Evolution, and Development (GGED) Division.

We seek applicants studying fundamental genetics, genomics, evolution, and/or developmental biology, across model systems and approaches, with potential to obtain external funding and to teach/mentor undergraduates, graduates and postdocs.

Qualifications

• A PhD or equivalent international degree in biology or a related field.
• A record of demonstrated excellence, originality and productivity in research.
• An interest in undergraduate and graduate teaching and mentorship with ability to support the success of all students through an inclusive curriculum, classroom environment, and pedagogy.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate excellence, originality and productivity in research.
• Develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses.
• Mentor students and postdocs and contribute to service.
