Job summary

Hood College invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Finance, a full-time, tenure-track position in the Delaplaine School of Business and Communication. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate finance courses, with August 2027 start and opportunities to teach accounting as a plus.

Qualifications

• Doctorate in finance or a related field in business or economics.
• Advanced ABDs and candidates with a master’s degree in finance with significant teaching and/or professional experience will also be considered.
• Experience teaching in a small liberal arts college environment.
• Accounting background and/or ability to teach introductory accounting courses considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses in financial management, business finance, investment analysis, and portfolio management at undergraduate and graduate levels.
• Maintain active field-specific research and pursue publication.
• Mentor undergraduate students and advise graduate research; participate in committees and initiatives.
