Job summary

The University of Utah's Civil and Environmental Engineering Department invites applications for two 9-month, tenure-track faculty positions in Environmental Engineering with an anticipated start date of August 1, 2027. Appointments may be at the Assistant or Associate Professor level.

Successful candidates will develop externally funded research programs, teach undergraduate and graduate courses, mentor students, publish scholarly work, and contribute to department and university service.

Qualifications

• PhD in Civil or Environmental Engineering or closely related field before hire date.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collegially with diverse constituencies.
• Professional engineering licensure is highly desired or potential to obtain soon after appointment.

Responsibilities

• Develop externally funded research program.
• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Civil and Environmental Engineering.
• Mentor students and publish scholarly work; contribute to service at department, college and university.
