Job summary

Boise State University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of English Teaching in the Department of Writing Studies, beginning August 2027. We seek a teacher-scholar with expertise in English education and experience teaching English Language Arts in grades 6–12.

Primary teaching will include undergraduate ELA methods courses and other courses supporting the English Teaching major, with opportunities to shape curriculum, mentor preservice teachers, and build partnerships

Qualifications

• PhD or EdD in English education, literacy education, curriculum and instruction with a focus on ELA, literacy, or a related field
• Experience teaching English Language Arts in grades 6-12 in the United States

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate English Language Arts methods courses and other courses that support the English Teaching major
• Contribute to preparation of future English educators and advise preservice teachers
• Mentor preservice teachers and build partnerships with local schools and educators across the region
