Job summary

James Madison University invites applications for a 10-month tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Developmental Biology, starting August 2027. The successful candidate will join a community of over 60 biologists and expand evo-devo research.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Developmental Biology with emphasis on comparative and evolutionary biology.
• Post-doctoral experience preferred.
• Experience mentoring undergraduates and teaching biology courses.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain an externally funded research program with undergraduate co-authors.
• Teach core biology and biotechnology courses and develop upper-level animal development courses with a lab.
• Create course-based undergraduate research experiences (CUREs).
