Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene or related field required.
• Current Texas dental hygiene license (CODA-accredited program) required.
• Minimum of five years of clinical dental hygiene experience.
• Documented background in current educational methodology concepts.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to student success, diversity, and academic excellence.
• Preferred: Master’s degree in Dental Hygiene or related field.
• Preferred: Teaching experience or formal training in education.
• Preferred: Prior CODA-accredited program teaching experience.
• Preferred: Experience with clinical instruction and assessment.
• Familiarity with educational technology and LMS.

Responsibilities

• Teach didactic, laboratory, and/or clinical dental hygiene courses as assigned.
• Develop, revise, and implement course syllabi, lesson plans, and instructional materials.
• Evaluate student performance and maintain records.
• Supervise students in clinical settings, ensuring patient safety and ethical care.
• Participate in curriculum development, faculty calibration, and program assessment.
• Maintain compliance with CODA, state, and institutional regulations.
• Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and college service.
• Collaborate with faculty, staff, and clinical personnel for program effectiveness.
• Participate in student advisement and program recruitment.
• Carry out duties as determined by the Program Director and administration.
• Provide input for budget process.
• Serve on committees.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
