San José State University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor specializing in cinematography and visual storytelling, with strong technical expertise in film and television production. Qualifications

MFA in Film Production or a graduate degree in a closely related field.
A record of creative practice in cinematography, visual storytelling, and film/TV production, showing both aesthetic and technical expertise.
Undergraduate-level teaching experience with hands-on instruction in cinematography/film production.
Technical proficiency in camera operation, lighting, grip and electrical systems, and digital cinema technologies, including cameras, lenses, and camera movement.
Awareness of and sensitivity to the educational goals of a diverse student population.

Responsibilities

Design and teach cinematography and film/TV production courses, including related topics based on expertise.
Advise and mentor students in coursework and collaborative production.
Contribute to curriculum development in the RTVF program for cinematography and emerging production areas.
Participate in student recruitment and campus engagement.
Maintain ongoing professional engagement through research/creative activity.
Contribute to shared governance and service, including departmental committees.
