The City College of New York’s Political Science Department seeks a tenure-track Assistant Professor of American Politics who will also serve as director of its Honors Program in Legal Studies. The appointee will teach courses on American constitutional law, the judiciary and the legal profession.

The Director will lead the Honors Program, oversee curricular development, scheduling, student advisement, and recruitment/oversight of student fellows, and work with the chair and development office

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Political Science required.
• Ability to teach successfully.
• Demonstrated scholarly achievement.
• Ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.

Responsibilities

• Direct the Honors Program in Legal Studies, providing leadership and strategic vision.
• Oversee curricular development, scheduling, and student advisement.
• Recruit, select, and supervise student fellows.
• Collaborate with department chair and development office on fundraising and external relations.
