Job summary

Saint Louis University is recruiting a tenure-track Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacology & Physiology. The successful candidate will lead an independent, well-funded research program and actively participate in graduate, medical, and undergraduate teaching within a highly collaborative environment.

Research emphasis includes mechanistic and translational biomedical science with focus on chronic pain, neurological disorders, and metabolic/gastrointestinal diseases.

Qualifications

• Candidates must hold a PhD, MD/PhD, MD, or equivalent doctoral degree.
• Established record of peer-reviewed scholarship and substantial extramural funding (e.g., NIH or equivalent).
• Independent research program with potential for collaboration and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an externally funded, nationally competitive research program.
• Contribute to the educational mission through teaching and mentorship of graduate students, postdocs, medical and undergraduate learners.
• Engage in interdisciplinary collaboration and service within the department and university.
