Job summary

The University of Washington Tacoma School of Education invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Teacher Education with a specialization in K-8 Critical Literacy. Qualifications

• Earned doctorate in Literacy, Reading, or related field by start of appointment.
• At least 3 years of full-time credentialed literacy teaching in diverse PK-12 settings in the USA.
• Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching in the candidate’s areas of expertise.
• Ability to develop and pursue a scholarly research agenda.

Responsibilities

• Teach and mentor students across multiple modalities (in-person, online, hybrid).
• Maintain a rigorous scholarly agenda through research and service.
• Engage in accreditation, assessment, curriculum development, and program reviews.
• Mentor students and participate in school and campus committees.
