Hofstra University invites applications for a tenure-track, full-time Assistant Professor in Global Medieval History in the Department of History. Starting Sept 1, 2027, the position seeks expertise in global interconnections from 4th to 16th centuries with a focus on transcontinental exchanges across Eurasia, the Indian Ocean, and Africa.

The successful candidate will teach undergraduate history courses, contribute to scholarly research across traditional and digital humanities, and support a

• Ph.D. in History at time of appointment.
• Experience teaching undergraduate history courses.
• Demonstrated record of scholarly activity and research.
• Commitment to promoting an inclusive educational environment.

Responsabilidades

• Teach core history courses and global medieval history; area outside Europe is valued.
• Engage in research and scholarship, including dissertations, monographs, and DH projects.
• Support a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment for faculty, staff, and students.
• Provide service to the Department of History and Hofstra College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
