The Center for Childhood Resilience (CCR) at Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago and Northwestern University's Institute for Innovations in Developmental Sciences (DevSci) invite applications for a tenure-eligible faculty leadership role (associate-to-full professor) focused on developmental health equity.
This position is ideal for senior leaders interested in fostering collaboration between applied and scientific communities to enhance pediatric mental health research and impact. Candidates should have a robust research portfolio in pediatric mental health equity with a developmental focus, and experience in community-engaged research involving young children and families.
The role involves leading initiatives in early identification and prevention of mental health risks, promoting social-emotional wellbeing, and exploring multigenerational pathways to developmental psychopathology. Disciplines of interest include developmental psychology, child psychiatry, public health, community-engaged research, and pediatrics, especially those emphasizing health equity.
This joint leadership position builds on a partnership between CCR and DevSci, aiming to improve developmental health equity through transformative research, community engagement, and training. The candidate will serve as CCR Research Director and DevSci Associate Director, fostering scientific collaborations, leading community-based mental health intervention research, and advancing training programs.
Responsibilities include mentoring students and fellows, developing innovative research, and strengthening partnerships within and across units. The academic home for this role is in the Division of Child Psychiatry and Behavioral Health, Northwestern Feinberg School of Medicine.
CCR is dedicated to increasing access to mental health services for children and youth, emphasizing prevention, resilience, and system change. DevSci focuses on translating developmental science into early interventions, supported by extensive federal funding and a broad academic community.
