Job summary

Thousand Oaks Family YMCA in San Antonio, TX is seeking a tennis coach to oversee practices, clinics, and group sessions within the YMCA program. You will manage daily attendance, keep courts organized, and uphold YMCA policies while guiding youth progress and safety.

The role requires proper coaching credentials, civility, and the ability to communicate progress to parents, with a focus on fostering youth development and healthy living through the tennis program.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• 18 years of age or older.
• One to three years experience and certification as ASCA level 1 swim coach.
• Certifications within the first 60 days: YMCA approved basic life savings skills such as CPR, First Aid, AED, and Emergency Oxygen Certifications.
• Must be able to demonstrate swim instructor skills in accordance with YMCA standards.
• YMCA Swim Instructor certification, or equivalent.
• Ability to maintain certification level of physical and mental readiness.

Responsibilities

• Provides one on one or group coaching sessions.
• Tracks daily attendance sheets.
• Keeps the courts clear of equipment and puts equipment in proper storage place.
• Attends all staff meetings and training sessions when scheduled.
• Maintains a professional attitude at all times.
• Reports needed equipment repairs to Tennis Pro in writing.
• Enforces all facility rules.
• Provides direct teaching leadership in a team teaching situation.
• Shares responsibility in interpreting and communicating child’s progress to parents.
• Ensure the YMCA swim team adheres to all AASSL policies.
• Follows all YMCA of Greater San Antonio policies and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
