ABB is seeking a Tender / Quotation Specialist to lead bids for Low Voltage Motor Control Centers in North America. The role focuses on preparing technical, cost, and commercial data-driven proposals, with strong emphasis on timely, well-documented tenders and cross-functional collaboration.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in engineering or sales-related quotation work, a degree in electrical engineering, and proficiency with MS Word, AutoCAD, Excel, SharePoint, plus programming basics.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering required.
  • Technical background in ANSI/IEC low voltage switchgears and/or motor control centers.
  • 5+ years in engineering, sales, quotations, proposals or manufacturing.
  • Prior proposals experience strongly preferred.
  • Proficient with MS Word, AutoCAD, Excel, SharePoint; programming skills (macros, Java, PowerApps) a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Formulate competitive bids, estimates, and quotations based on customer specifications and budget.
  • Create well-documented tenders with full and accurate costs in a timely manner.
  • Manage technical, financial, and project management aspects of bids, estimates, and quotations.
  • Ensure timely inputs for bid editing and adhere to quality procedures.

Join us and help run what runs the world.This position reports to:EL Sales Support Manager__As the Tender / Quotation Specialist focusing on Low Voltage Motor Control Centers, you will have the opportunity to create and complete bids, estimations, and quotations based on customer specifications, requirements, or budget to achieve market competitiveness and high margins for the company. You will also showcase your expertise by collecting and collating the information required to prepare proposals, including both technical, cost elements, and commercial data.The work model for the role is hybrid (#LI-Hybrid) out of preferably the Houston, TX ABB Facility, or in the Mebane, NC manufacturing plant.This role is contributing to the Electrification business. Distribution Solutions. Product Low Voltage Motor Control Center. Region North America.You will be mainly accountable for:Formulating competitive bids, estimates, and quotations by considering the best available product mix and appropriate technical and commercial aspects for each situation.Creating well-documented tenders in a timely manner and with an appropriate level of detail, including full and accurate costs.Managing the preparation of technical, financial, and, if required, project management aspects of the bid, estimate, and quotation, indicating prices and trading conditions.Ensuring that inputs for editing activities related to bid, estimate, and quotation preparation are provided in a timely manner and in accordance with the established quality procedures.Our team dynamics:You will join a broad, multicultural, and dynamic team with a strong customer-centric and continuous improvement mindset, where you will have the opportunity to thrive and grow professionally.Qualifications for the role:Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent / similar fields)Must possess technical background within ANSI/IEC low voltage switchgears and/or motor control centers (if not in those specific products, than experience within packaging, services, electrification and or distribution systems)5+ years of relevant experience in engineering, sales, quotations, proposals, manufacturingCandidates with prior proposals experience are strongly preferredProficient with MS Word, AutoCAD, Excel, SharePoint and preferably programming skills (macros, java, PowerApps, etc)Candidates must already possess authorization to work for ABB in the USWhat's in it for you:We empower you to take initiative, challenge ideas, and lead with confidence.
