ENTERPRISE FOR PROGRESS IN THE COMMUNITY (EPIC) in Moxee, WA is seeking a Full Time Transportation Assistant to ensure safe bus transport of children, maintain supervision on the bus, and support classroom activities as needed. The role requires a HS/GED and at least one year of work with young children, plus a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Qualifications

  • HS/GED required.
  • At least one year work experience with young children.
  • 18 years of age or older.
  • Basic computer proficiency preferred.
  • Familiarity with the ethnic background of families served in EPIC programs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with children and adults.
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and required auto insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure children enter and exit the bus safely and are released to authorized persons.
  • Maintain age-appropriate guidance and activities on the bus.
  • Stay with children in emergencies until help arrives.
  • Relay communications between home and school to parents and staff.
  • Communicate with parents to encourage participation in school events.
  • Attend required training sessions and meetings.
  • May work up to 40 hours weekly, including time on the bus.
  • Complete required paperwork (attendance roster, slips).
  • Assist in other areas when needed.
  • Maintain a safe, healthy, sanitary environment with supervision at all times.
  • Assist in classroom activities when in the classroom.
  • Support and promote EPIC policies on safety and supervision.
  • Follow EPIC Core values and Speak Up, Speak Out guidelines.
  • Participate in center family nights, meetings, and training.

Job Location: MX - Moxee - Moxee, WA 98936Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: High SchoolSalary Range: $17.41 - $17.93 HourlyEnsure that the children are transported in a safe, timely, and appropriate manner. Ensuring that the work is done in accordance with the service delivery plan, ECEAP Performance Standards, State licensing requirements and agency policies and procedures.

Responsibilities
  1. 1. Ensure that children enter and exit the bus in a safe manner, remain seated while bus is in motion, and ensure that children are released to listed authorized person(s) in accordance with EPIC Policies.
  2. 2. Assure that age-appropriate guidance and activities for children are maintained on the bus, in accordance with agency standards.
  3. 3. Remain with the children in case of an emergency while the bus driver seeks help.
  4. 4. Relay communications between home and school to appropriate parents and staff.
  5. 5. Communicate regularly with parents, encouraging them to attend school events and to become involved in the center.
  6. 6. Attend all training sessions and meetings as required.
  7. 7. Transportation Assistants working two (2) bus runs daily will participate in the classroom. May work up to 40 hours per week, including time on the bus.
  8. 8. Complete required paperwork as assigned, including attendance roster and absentee slips.
  9. 9. May need to assist in other areas when needed.
  10. 10. Maintain a safe, healthy and sanitary environment ensuring that children are supervised at all times; respond quickly to crisis or emergency situations that may occur; provide first aid, CPR, and access emergency services as needed.
  11. 11. While in the classroom, assist in implementing classroom activities and preparing materials and supplies.
  12. 12. Implement, support, and promote policies and procedures for Child Abuse and Neglect, Child Guidance and Active Supervision.
  13. 13. Be committed to applying EPIC’s Core values to daily work by maintaining professionalism, accountability, consistency with program standards, and promptly reporting observed concerns through appropriate channels and following our Speak Up, Speak Out guidelines.
  14. 14. Actively participate in center family nights, parent meetings, staff meetings, professional development opportunities and all relevant center activities.
