Qualifications

• Requires a High School diploma or equivalent with basic math and computer skills. Preference will be given to those with previous warehousing, material handling, or related work experience.
• Experience in operating motorized material handling equipment including forklifts preferred.
• Must be able to become Church certified within 6 weeks of hire.
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Must be able to read and understand English.
• If driving required, a valid operator's license is required that is appropriate for the vehicle(s) to be driven.
• Must be able to physically lift/move/push/pull items (up to 50 lbs. alone or occasionally lift up to 100 lbs. with two people), climb ladders, stairs, scaffolding, and ramps to store/retrieve items, and operate a pallet jack containing up to 2,500 lbs.
• Must be willing to attend training in the first year of employment to better understand lean and continuous improvement principles.

Responsibilities

• Performs general material handling/warehousing duties involving receiving, storing, inventorying, shipping, and disbursing materials/commodities.
• Picks orders and prepares pallets for shipment.
• Processes materials using postal manifest and meter equipment.
• Loads and unloads trucks.
• Reviews and interprets shipping documents, verifies quantities, inspects for damage, determines country of origin and specific language code for international materials, and prepares receiving and inventory records.
• Records weight and dimension figures on all new items for warehouse management system.
