Watauga County Schools seeks a Temporary Exceptional Children's Teacher Assistant at Hardin Park Elementary School in Boone, North Carolina. The role is for the 2026-2027 school year, full-time, with a starting date of immediately and salary of $17.56 per hour.

The ideal candidate will have an Associate's degree or 48 semester hours toward a four-year degree, or have completed the 96-hour Teacher Assistant Institute with Work Keys testing. CDL with S and P endorsements is required or obtainable.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or 48 semester hours toward a four year degree or must have completed the 96-hour Teacher Assistant Institute and Work Keys testing prior to employment.
• Experience working with individuals with special needs preferred, but not required.
• Must hold or be able to obtain Class B CDL with S and P endorsements.
