Ocean State Job Lot is seeking a Seasonal Peak Associate at our Fairhaven, MA location to assist with processing receipts, stocking merchandise, and replenishment on the sales floor and in receiving areas. You may operate a cash register and support freight management during unloads.

The role emphasizes independence and teamwork in a climate-controlled retail environment, with physical tasks including lifting up to 35 lbs and working across sales floor, stockroom, and office areas.

Qualifications

• Basic math and reading skills, legible handwriting, and good verbal and written communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Follow the Company’s freight management process when unloading.
• Merchandise fixtures and other supplies from trucks before directing them to designated areas on the sales floor.
• Prepare merchandise for the sales floor by removing it from packaging, verifying price information, and ticketing where necessary; process merchandise as directed and in accordance with Company procedures.
• Perform ongoing recovery throughout a shift as needed, such as collect trash and compact cardboard.
• Possess the ability to work independently and as a member of a team to accomplish assigned goals.
• Operate a cash register as needed.
• Recover receiving areas and sales floor prior to the end of each shift.

Job Description:

The Seasonal Peak Associate role at OSJL is a seasonal position that is responsible for processing and preparing receipts of merchandise, fixtures, and supplies within the assigned location. This role will also assist in moving, stocking, and replenishing merchandise on the sales floor and receiving areas.

Work Environment:

• Work primarily in a climate controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.
• Long periods of remaining stationary, moving, and positioning oneself to complete assigned tasks are required throughout the shift.
• The conditions for performing all job functions will change according to the constraints of an individual store location. These will include a sales area, a stockroom/receiving area and a separate operations/office area, all of which may have varying conditions such as temperature, dust levels, and overall accessibility.
• Responsible for physical activities including using hand tools, bending, stooping, climbing, reaching, and lifting on a frequent basis: Should be able to lift 35 lbs on a regular basis.
