Actalent is seeking a Contract Senior Quality Engineer for an on-site role in Branford, CT. The contractor will support aerospace quality activities, resolve production and customer issues, and drive improvements in a regulated environment.

Must bring deep aerospace QA experience, AS9100 and AS9102 FAI skills, RCCA ownership, and hands-on reading of drawings and GD&T. The position is 3 months with potential for extension.

Qualifications

• Hands-on AS9102 FAI experience, including ability to work through FAI packages and ballooned drawings.
• Strong RCCA / corrective action ownership in an aerospace environment.

• MRB / nonconformance disposition experience.
• Manufacturing-floor quality experience.
• Ability to work independently and contribute immediately with minimal ramp-up.

Job Title: Contract Senior Quality Engineer

This contract Senior Quality Engineer role provides immediate quality engineering support within a manufacturing operation, with a strong focus on aerospace-grade quality systems. You will operate independently while collaborating closely with Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, and customer stakeholders to resolve production and customer quality issues, strengthen the quality management system, and drive continuous improvement. This short-term, project-based opportunity offers high visibility and the chance to make a direct impact on real production and customer quality challenges in a demanding, regulated environment.

Must-Haves

Important calibration:

General manufacturing Quality Engineering is not enough. The manager is specifically looking for someone with depth in aerospace quality who can step in immediately and cover the workload for 3 months.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Engineering or a related discipline is preferred; equivalent professional-level experience may substitute for a formal degree.
• Experience in the aerospace industry is preferred; relevant experience in other regulated manufacturing environments is also valuable.
• Direct exposure to welding and/or brazing manufacturing processes is preferred.
• Familiarity with AS13100, NADCAP, and FAA requirements is a strong differentiator.
• Lean and/or Six Sigma experience is strongly relevant; formal certification is beneficial but not explicitly required.
• Self-directed mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountability for quality outcomes.
• Methodical, structured problem-solving approach with the ability to quickly understand unfamiliar processes and environments.
• Ability to adapt rapidly, deliver results in a short-term contract setting, and thrive in a high-visibility role.

Work Environment

This role is fully onsite in Branford, CT, combining office-based quality engineering work with regular interaction on the manufacturing floor. You will work within an aerospace-focused environment that incorporates ISO 9001, AS9100, AS13100, NADCAP, and FAA requirements, providing exposure to demanding customer and regulatory standards. The position involves close collaboration with Quality, Manufacturing, and Engineering teams and offers high visibility across these functions. Personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required when working in production areas, and you should be comfortable moving between office and shop floor settings. Up to approximately 15% travel may be required, for example to support customer interactions, audits, or other site activities. The contract nature of the role suits experienced consultants who prefer project-based work and enjoy solving real production and customer quality problems in a hands-on environment.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $48.08 - $52.88/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
