Job summary

TEGNA Inc.'s WTSP in the Tampa Bay area is seeking a passionate Photographer to join our award-winning newsroom as a visual storyteller. You will shoot and edit compelling video for daily coverage across broadcast, streaming and digital platforms, collaborating with reporters and producers to capture breaking news, weather events and enterprise stories.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a television news photographer and editor preferred.
  • Strong non-linear editing skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends and extended hours during breaking news or severe weather.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lift and carry professional camera equipment and work in outdoor conditions.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

WTSP, the TEGNA-owned CBS affiliate serving the Tampa Bay area is looking for a passionate, creative and driven Photographer to join our award-winning newsroom. We are seeking a visual storyteller who thrives in breaking news, loves finding compelling moments and is committed to producing impactful journalism across broadcast, streaming and digital platforms. The ideal candidate is more than a skilled photographer—they are a storyteller who understands how powerful video, sound and emotion connect with audiences. You'll work alongside reporters, producers and newsroom leaders to cover everything from major breaking news and severe weather to investigations, enterprise stories, sports and the unique people and places that make Tampa Bay one of the nation's most dynamic communities.

TEGNA offers comprehensive benefits designed to safeguard the physical, mental and financial health of our employees and their families. Our 401(k) program offers full, part-time and temporary employees the opportunity to contribute 1% - 80% of their pay on a pre-tax basis to TEGNA’s 401(k). Contributions made up to the first 4% of pay are eligible for a 100% match from the company and are 100% vested from day one.

Regardless of participation in TEGNA medical plans, ALL employees and their eligible family members receive nine free virtual doctor’s appointments with a physician through Teladoc, and 12 free annual therapy sessions with a licensed clinician through Spring Health.

TEGNA offers a generous Paid Time Off (PTO) benefit as well as nine paid holidays per year.
