Job summary

Vanderbilt Health in Nashville is seeking a Temporary Staff Pharmacist to support discharge teams and manage transplant prescriptions on a full-time, onsite basis at the main campus and Melrose Avenue location.

You will review orders, optimize medication preparation, provide drug information, supervise support staff, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This role offers a collaborative environment and opportunities to contribute to patient safety.

Qualifications

• Pharmacist license in Tennessee required.
• Experience with discharge processes and transplant prescriptions is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of medication safety and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Review drug orders to ensure safe, appropriate and cost-effective use of medications.
• Optimize medication preparation and resolve medication-related issues to provide outstanding patient care.
• Prepare and dispense medications, provide drug information and manage therapy per regulations and hospital policy.
• Supervise assigned support staff and verify accuracy of medications before dispensing to patients.
