Job summary

The Nexstar Media Group Inc. is seeking a Studio Technician to support production across camera, audio, lighting, graphics and digital systems.

You will collaborate with the director and studio staff to coordinate action in the studio or on location and help prepare guests for on-air segments. Proficiency with basic computer tools (e.g., Photoshop) and signal acquisition technologies is a plus; you will maintain equipment, move set pieces, and provide prompt, organized support under deadline

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Experience in television, film or post production preferred.
  • Must interact well with video journalists, anchors, videographers, news managers, production and engineering staff.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Excellent communication and organization skills.
  • Basic computer knowledge including Photoshop.
  • Ability to handle high stress environment with deadline pressures.

Responsibilities

  • Operate camera, audio, visual, graphics, lighting, or digital equipment for production and/or transmission.

  • Use ENG, TVU, satellite receivers, and PC signals for news broadcasts.
  • Operate studio prompting equipment and cue talent.

  • Maintain and store equipment and perform studio maintenance.

Job description

The Studio Technician operates various equipment (camera, audio, visual, graphics, lighting, or digital) used for production and/or transmission. Collaborate with the director and studio staff to coordinate the action in the studio or while out on location Use signal acquisition technologies, Electronic News Gathering (ENG), TVU, satellite receivers, PC (Zoom) to obtain signals to be used for news broadcasts. Operate studio prompting equipment and cue talent. Assist and prepare guests for on-air news segments. Use software such as Adobe Premier to edit and record promos, weather elements for broadcast. Provide camera, and audio/lighting production support as needed. Move, adjust studio set pieces and furniture. Maintains and stores equipment and studio maintenance.

Salary Range - $19.00 - $20.00 hourly
