Job summary

COLORADO PARKS AND WILDLIFE (CPW) is seeking Temporary Park Rangers to educate the public, patrol state parks, and support diverse recreational opportunities. The role is unarmed, outdoors-focused, with responsibilities including citations, incident response, and assisting in all areas of park operations.

The position runs up to 40 hours weekly for about nine months, with shifts including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Must possess a valid driver's license for operating a state vehicle and a clean driving record.
• Background check will be conducted; federal law prohibits illicit drug use.
• Must complete Colorado State Park training and have First Aid/CPR certifications.

Responsibilities

• Educate the public and patrol state parks.
• Issue citations for violations and respond to emergencies.
• Assist in daily park operations including revenue, maintenance, and visitor services.
• Work up to 40 hours per week; shifts include weekends and holidays.
