Job summary

West Linn-Wilsonville School District 3J is seeking a Temporary Paraeducator I/II at Lowrie Primary School in West Linn, Oregon. The 7-hour/day, 5-day/week position supports students under the supervision of a licensed teacher and the Principal.

This temporary role is part of the classified bargaining unit for the 26-27 school year. Responsibilities include assisting with instruction, collecting data, preparing instructional materials, and implementing behavior and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• AA/AS degree, 72 credits, Paraeducator Program or equivalent exam, BA/BS or MA/MS required.
• Ability to promote independence and provide instruction under the direction of the licensed teacher.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and over 50 pounds with assistance.

Responsibilities

• Work one-on-one and in small groups to foster independence in academics, social skills, and routines.
• Collect and record data; prepare instructional materials.
• Support instruction and assessment for individual students and small groups.
• Assist with instruction in gym, lunchroom, playground, and community settings.
• Assist with hygienic and personal needs, including medical protocols as required.
