Town of Mammoth Lakes is seeking a Temporary Trail Crew Leader in Mammoth Lakes to groom winter trails with Snow-Cat and snowmobiles, perform maintenance, install signage, and support trail systems year-round. Supervisory oversight comes from the Outdoor Recreation Manager and Trails Program Manager.
Candidate should have specialized trail maintenance training or experience, a valid California Class C license or ability to obtain within 10 days, and pass a background check.
Effective 10/26/2026, wage range increases to $28.3161 - $32.7795 hourly.
Receives general supervision from the Outdoor Recreation Manager and direct supervision from the Trails Program Manager.

Specialized training/experience in trail maintenance is preferred.
Temporary Trail Crew Leader: while snow-cat and grooming experience is a plus, this is an entry level position.
Possession of, or ability to obtain within the state required timeframe of ten (10) days of established residency, a valid State of California Class C Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record. Must pass an appropriate background check prior to the hire date.
