Job summary

Qualifications

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Perform closet audits, ensuring residents' closets are correctly labeled and organized.
  • Sort, wash, and dry personal clothing following approved procedures.
  • Fold, count, and stack clothing as required by procedures.
  • Collect soiled clothing and distribute clean items to residents.
  • Transport supplies to storage and collection areas.
  • Provide quality customer service with attention to detail.
  • Inspect clothing for wear and tear and arrange replacements from donations.
  • Label and inventory new and existing residents' clothing.
  • Receive notifications of missing items and locate them per procedure.
  • Maintain clean, orderly, and sanitary laundry rooms.
  • Adhere to dress codes and attendance policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
  • Essential Physical Requirements: Lifts 20 to 50 lbs.

Position Summary

The Laundry Aide is responsible for performing laundry services, including cleaning, washing, folding, and distributing personal clothing to residents. The laundry aide must ensure all items are handled with care and returned to the correct resident, while maintaining a clean and sanitary laundry room environment.

Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English, follow written and verbal instructions, and complete simple computational skills
  • Ability to meet travel requirements associated with this position
  • Ability to meet acceptable background check standards
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Related experience preferred.
Duties/Responsibilities
  • Perform closet audits, ensuring that residents' closets have the correct name on the clothing and that the closet is organized.
  • Properly sorts, washes and dries personal clothing following the approved laundry procedures.
  • Folds, counts, and stacks personal clothing following approved laundry procedures.
  • Collects soiled personal clothing and distributes clean personal clothing.
  • Transports supplies, including clean and soiled personal clothing, to the appropriate storage and collection areas.
  • Provides quality customer service by providing one-on-one attention to detail.
  • Routinely inspects personal clothing for wear and tear, identifies worn and torn personal items, and provides replacement items from donations.
  • Label and conduct inventory on new residents' clothing and current residents' new items.
  • Receive notifications of missing items and attempt to locate them as per procedure.
  • Maintains the commercial and residential laundry rooms clean, orderly, and sanitary.
  • Adhere to organization and department dress codes and time/attendance policy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
  • Essential Physical Requirements*:Typically lifts 20 to 50 lbs.
