Job description

Position: Temporary Lab Technician

Essential Job Duties

Daily duties include:

• Assist research scientists with ongoing field projects on local and State water bodies
• Daily travel and field work in all weather conditions.
• Support general laboratory-based activities
• Maintain field equipment, calibrate sensors, and keep detailed logs
• Carry out other laboratory and field duties as directed by supervisor

Work Schedule

10-15 hours per week between 9 am‑6 pm Monday‑Friday, with flexibility as needed depending on field conditions.

Minimum Experience & Education

• Combination of training and experience required to perform the duties

Required Skills

• Proficiency in data collection
• Experience with equipment calibration using water quality sondes, light meters, and current meters
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. on a routine basis

Required License or Certification

• Valid driver’s license
• No commercial driver’s license required
