March through May: Serve as a certified Aquatic Nuisance Species (ANS) Watercraft Inspection and Decontamination (WID) Trainer and conduct trainings statewide at the direction of the Invasive Species Coordinator or Specialist. Responsibilities include setting up trainings, creating binders for students, accepting registrations, securing locations, arranging boats and decontamination units for demonstrations, providing engaging classroom presentations and effective hands-on outdoor demonstration sessions, and all other aspects of training. Trainers must follow current state procedures, using state-issued presentation materials without alterations, at all times.
June Through November: In addition to providing WID trainings, assist the Invasive Species Coordinator and Invasive Species Specialists with the following tasks as assigned:
To be compliant with the New Fleet Vehicle Policy, Motor Vehicle Records (MVRs) will be pulled for review for workers who: (1) have an assigned State fleet vehicle; (2) are required to operate a vehicle as part of the position; (3) utilize a State fleet vehicle as a pool vehicle.
Employee may be required to camp in rustic settings and must provide own camping equipment and gear when performing biological field work.
Preferred Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Sciences or higher education.
