Job summary

Tory Burch is seeking a Materials Assistant in New York for a 6-month assignment. You will perform administrative activities and interface with Design and PD as part of the Raw Materials team, working with RM teams in NY, China, and HK, reporting to Raw Materials Management in NY.

The hourly pay range is $29-$31/hr. In this role, you will organize raw material libraries, support development and design with boards and swatches, and help manage color standards and supplier pricing information.

Qualifications

• BS/BA/BFA degree required or preferred.
• Materials related development experience is a plus.
• Strong collaborative, organizational, and interpersonal skills; ability to work in a fluid, fast-paced environment.

This Role is Tailor-Made for You Because:

As a Tory Burch Materials Assistant you are fulfilling administrative activities and interfacing with Design and PD as required of the Raw Materials team, working daily with RM teams in NY, China, and HK, reporting to Raw Materials Management in NY. This is a 6 month assignment, and the hourly pay range is $29-$31/hr.

A Day in the Life:

Raw Material Organization & Record Management

• Organize and maintain order in the raw material library
• Support the RM team by keeping material development trials and approval records neatly filed
• Assist in labeling, shipping, and internal filing of seasonal approved Color Master references
• Collaborate with CFT to maintain a full set of updated color standards

Development & Design Support

• Assist the RM team with Design meeting prep, including presentation boards, bins, and racks
• Locate leather and fabric swatches requested during milestone meetings
• Label all incoming fabric headers with accurate article and pricing information
• Help follow up with suppliers for any missing pricing information
• Facilitate movement of material references between the 8th and 11th floors to support ongoing development and review needs

Logistics & Package Tracking

• Monitor tracking of development packages into the NY office
• Arrange daily shipments to mills, tanneries, and HK/DG offices
