Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced Financial Applications Support professional to serve as the primary resource for the Firm’s financial systems. You will administer Aderant and related tools, manage user access, and work with SQL data structures to ensure accurate reporting.

You will collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements, leverage APIs for integrations, and explore automation and AI-assisted capabilities to improve workflow efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in CS/IS/Finance tech or related field.
• At least five years’ experience supporting financial systems in professional services environments.
• Basic to intermediate SQL querying and report writing skills.
• Experience in Aderant administration including user setup and security configuration.
• Familiarity with workflows, system integrations, and API usage.
• Exposure to automation tools such as Power Automate.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted features in business apps or reporting tools is a plus.
• Understanding of data quality, structure, and governance for reporting and analytics.
• Strong knowledge of Aderant database architecture, SQL tables, and data structures is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary support resource for the Firm’s financial applications.
• Administer systems, including user setup, access controls, and security maintenance.
• Perform database-level support, including working with the accounting software data structures, SQL tables, and queries.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application, workflow, and integration issues to minimize disruption to financial operations.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather and document business and technical requirements and translate them into effective solutions.
• Use APIs, database tools and available automation solutions to extend system functionality and improve the integration between applications.
• Participate in software implementations, upgrades, testing and validation efforts.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and system optimization, including through automation and AI-assisted capabilities where appropriate.
• Support reporting and data analysis needs by helping ensure accurate, consistent, and well-structured system data.
• Assist users in leveraging system features and tools, including emerging capabilities that enhance workflow efficiency.
• Document system configurations, processes, and support activities thoroughly.
• Communicate technical concepts and solutions clearly to non-technical users.
• Maintain strong working relationships across Finance and other departments.
• Ensure confidentiality and proper handling of sensitive financial and client data, including appropriate use of AI-enabled tools.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance Technology, or a closely related field; or equivalent experience.
• At least five (5) years of relevant experience supporting financial systems, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment.
• Basic to intermediate SQL querying and report writing skills
• Experience in Aderant application administration, including user setup and security configuration
• Familiarity with workflows, system integrations, and API usage
• Exposure to automation tools (e.g., Power Automate or similar platforms)
• Familiarity with AI-assisted features within business applications or reporting tools is a plus
• General understanding of data quality, structure, and governance as it relates to reporting and analytics
