The University of Georgia, CAES-Horticulture, is seeking a Temporary Field/Lab Research assistant to support its plant breeding program at the Griffin Area. The role involves laboratory practices, microscope work and tissue culture alongside fieldwork in greenhouse and field settings.

Typical schedule is Monday through Friday, 8am–5pm. Pay ranges from $13.00 to $15.00 per hour, with potential for extension based on funds and performance. Start date anticipated around 02/01/2022.

  • Planting in the field and greenhouse; propagating plants via cuttings or tissue culture watering plants, pollinating plants, collecting research data in the field and greenhouse, and other duties as required.
  • Photograph plants to be used in presentations.
